Therapy and Rehabilitation

With LC Equine Therapy, every horse is treated as an individual. Whether your horse is in full work, returning from injury, retired, or simply feeling stiff and tight, treatments are tailored to support comfort, mobility, range of motion and overall wellbeing.

Using a whole-horse, evidence based approach, sessions focus on identifying tension patterns, compensations, and areas of restriction — not just the obvious symptoms.

Because therapy is provided at your yard, your horse remains relaxed in their familiar environment, allowing for more effective treatment and a positive experience.

Our Approach

At LC Equine Therapy, treatment is guided by a structured, evidence based approach.

Each session begins with a detailed assessment of posture, movement patterns, muscle tone, and areas of restriction. Rather than treating isolated symptoms, the musculoskeletal system is evaluated as an interconnected whole. Compensatory patterns, asymmetries, and biomechanical influences are carefully considered before hands-on work begins.

Techniques used are utilised based on assessments of your individual horse, informed by current research surrounding soft tissue therapy, circulation, neuromuscular response, and fascial mobility. The goal is to improve range of motion, reduce maladaptive tension, support tissue recovery, and optimise functional movement.

Treatment plans are individualised and may include structured follow-up sessions where indicated, along with practical aftercare recommendations to support long-term outcomes.

Progress is measured not just by temporary relaxation, but by sustainable improvements in comfort, flexibility, behaviour, movement quality, and performance.

Collaboration with your veterinarian may be required where your horse has underlying issues or injuries. To optimise your horse’s care, we can work with your vet, farrier, equine dentist, trainers etc.
